Today Saturday 7 January 2023 Eden Radio Club ZS1ERZ had their first field station for the year.
We activate the HOTA station while doing this and had about 7 QSO'S on the log sheet.
Weather conditions was fantastic in George, blue sky's all the way, we all so some visitors coming say hi and also JP ZS1JPM from Stellenbosch.
Tested the SWR on the end-fed antenna and this was very good on about 1.5 SWR. Spoke with Johan in Knysna ZS2CX and Thys ZS1TBP local stations.
I used a 10m telescopic pole with flat iron base plate so that the mast could be secure in the air. Also, with a 100-watt solar panel and 105-amp battery we have more info amps to push out some whiskeys into the air waves.
My XYL bought some coffee across the street, and we had nice muffins as well.
Great day to begin the 2023 year and kick of the radio amateur hobby.
